Christmas Chatter...

What Christmas music takes you back to your childhood?  For me it is Elvis and Anne Murray.  I believe for Ethan it will be Michael Buble.  We have definitely enjoyed rocking around our Christmas tree to him this year!  I must say my favorite moments I will remember from this Christmas so far is listening to Ethan sing "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night" which seem to be his favorite!  Have you heard "A Very She and Him Christmas" CD yet....love it!

I can't believe Christmas is just a few days away.  I wish I had a little more time to top off my shopping, bake a little more, and complete our gingerbread house.  I keep hoping I have enough time to make the chex mix my mom always made at Christmas...it sounds so yummy to me this year as I crave salty with this sweet baby boy!

Ethan just had hibernation day at school...wish I had been off from work to take a photo of him in his Santa Rocks pajamas and new little moccasins house shoes from Nana.  David sent me a video before school and he looked so cute!

I think I need a peppermint mocha to power through my to-do list before Christmas....do you?

Christmas Card 2011...

Today I unexpectantly found myself off from work.  I recieved notice last night at 7pm that our nanny can no longer care for Ethan due to health concerns.  So I did what every other mom would do and used a sick day.  I have sent countless emails and texts trying to find sitters for the rest of December.  If only this preggo momma could have a big glass of wine tonight...Whew!

I did use time off today to finally order our Christmas Card!  I have always used Tiny Prints and love their snapshot links.  It is a place where you can upload and give an update about your year.  I know I always have the hardest time picking one photo.  This allows you to pick several and give a little update.

Our Christmas card may arrive in your mailbox on Christmas Eve, but until then you can enjoy our snapshot!

Nutracker and Santa Hats...

Last weekend we took Ethan to see his very first Nutcracker.  From a mom who spent her youth in the studio rather than on a field of some type, I jump at every opportunity to see a Ballet.  We decided to see a Mini Nutcracker performance by the Centennial Youth Ballet as our first experience taking a toddler to the ballet.  He loved it and I loved that he loved it!  I am hoping this is one Christmas tradition that sticks in our family...

After watching the Nutcracker, we made our first Christmas treats.  Santa Hats!  Ethan loved dipping the pretzels into the almond bark and using the sprinkles.  Super easy and very yummy.  Thank you Pinterest once again!

While making our Santa Hats we listened to the audio of the Polar Express.  Now after reading the book several times, we have added the movie to our Netflix que.

Isn't this the most wonderful time of year?
